Clearly influenced by physical theater performances that coupled rhythms, acrobatics, and pantomime with the body and everyday objects, Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell made the percussion group STOMP in 1991.
The world - wide concept that is Stomp is a wordless, joyful, and funny show. The eight-person cast uses almost anything from Zippo lighters and push brooms to wooden poles and hammer handles, garbage cans and inner tubes to matchboxes and even the kitchen sink, to make lovely music and subtle humor. With unbridled energy, the eight musicians take the audience on a trip through groove and tempo, telling the most incredible narrative.
